#22: We had a great stay!
Our host was wonderful! The home was charming, in a quaint area and well
equipped for our group of 6 people. The bedrooms were comfortable, the
bathrooms were sufficient and there was a cute kitchen area.
Maria made us a group breakfast for a reasonable fee in the morning that
was lovely. We had a great stay.

Thank you for an unexpected and delightful (albeit brief) stay with you at Rittershuus!
Despite the high temperatures we had a restful respite on our return from
Lago Maggiore, Zermatt and Grindelwald to our departure today in Zürich.
You have done an amazing job with your expert carpenter skills.
What a beautiful contrast between the old and the new!

Maria couldn't have been more wonderful . She was so nice, friendly, and helpful.
We really enjoyed talking with her and hearing about her interesting life. Her house is
beautiful, she's done such a wonderful job renovating the interior. Our living area was
spacious, bright and cheery. The neighborhood was very nice, safe, and quiet.
Unfortunately we could only stay one night, but we loved Maria, Lucerne, and Rittershuus.
We recommend it highly! Oh, and the traditional
Swiss homemade breakfast was awesome as well :-)

#11: The best accommodation during our 14 days holiday in Switzerland!

We have chosen this bnb though the location requires a change of bus from the city centre.
We are glad that we've made the right choice. It's easy to locate the bus stop which is just outside the train station. Bus journey is short and the bus stop is just next to the bnb.
Maria our host greeted us with a big smile and warm welcome. Our unit is on the upper floor so climbing of some steps is required . Our luggage is big but we managed. Room is bright and cosy. Very clean and comfortable. Bedsheets feels new. Attached bathroom is not huge but just nice for the 4 of us. There's a small kitchen to prepare simple meals, no frying, on the first floor. It's good enough for us. We are more then happy during our 4 nights stay with Maria. We have stayed in other bnb and what really stands out is the personal touch given by Maria.
1. Maria took the trouble to prepare Swiss breakfast for us. She will always check what time we would like to have breakfast. On days that we need it real early, she has no hesitation to oblige.
2. Our breakfast for the 4 days are all different. Bread, butter , cheese and beverages are standard plus variation on either egg, cereal, ham or salmon. Maria pays attention to small details of our liking and make changes to suit our taste. She noted that my friend doesn't like cold oranges so she changed to mellon at room temperature the next day. I told her we prepare soft texture cheese and we had soft and moist cream cheese the next morning.
Maria bother to check how we feel about the meals and adjust accordingly.
We didn't get this from the rest of bnb, not even from the hotels we stayed.
3. Maria gave us advice on where to go and have our meals. She will spend sometime to chat with us everyday. We tried her recommendation on the restaurant next door and had our best meals in Switzerland. The chef though hardly able to communicate with us, prepared special meals to suit Asian's liking. Our 4 nights stay in this bnb leaves a warm and nice feeling. It's like living with a friend abroad. Nice and clean room is the basic for all bnb. What makes this place different is the personal touch. A host that cares and passionate about what she's doing.
There's 2 visitor books on the table in the kitchen. Similar comments from other visitors since
3 years ago. I wish that Maria continues with her good work. A big Thank you for hosting us.

The room is very warm, cozy and quiet. It is not far from the center station (15 mins walking). The kitchen and bathroom is not too large but well equipped where you can make some simple dinner. Maria is a wonderful person who can cook delicious breakfasts.

It's really lucky of me to make an absolutely right decision of booking Maria's B&B Rittershuus. The house is more than 300 years old, but the inside is quite new and clean. All furnitures are made by themselves, very beautiful. There's even a real fireplace with burning wood. The bed is very soft and comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen are both well equipped. Also, the location is very convenient, only 20 minutes walk from train station. Maria is very considerate and friendly. The breakfast she prepared was fantastic! Totally beyond my expectations. I loved the grain yogurt and organic egg. And she gave us helpful advice of sightseeing. My friend and I had amazing time here. I would highly recommend Maria's B&B Rittershuus to anyone who would like to visit Lucerne. It'll be definitely an unforgettable experience.
